Oniyx (Nadire Subtype)

    Oniyx are one of the more rare sub-types of the main inhabitants, usually only found and made in the city of Ohaso. Originally once Nadires, Oniyx are those that seek a life of mortality and experiences that can not be obtained in a robotic body. Becoming an Oniyx is an expensive procedure that only one company (Phoenix Tech) in Ohaso offers. The Nadire's faceplate is reconstructed into a new appearance, as well as the internal core inside the head, then fitted into a new body of flesh and metal. These new bodies can eat, drink, and possess all the 5 basic senses, including heightened abilities and customization upon the Nadire's request. 

    Oniyx are only made by Nadires themselves and do not convert any other being into these forms. Nadire's may also be turned into Oniyx if their bodies are beyond repair, however, this incurs a dept that the Nadire is expected to repay, which usually includes working for the company itself.

Diet

  • Liches often feed off meat, mostly corpses rather than live meat, however, they are considered an omnivore. 

Height

  • Crowned Liches are around Xeode height, usually taller than most Aphex. 


Reproduction

  • Liches do not have defined genders and possess the ability to have either reproductive organs. It is not uncommon for Liches to change sex to find a partner to reproduce. 

Lore and Information

  • Crowned Liches are a parasitic species belonging to a large colony called The Rot. The Rot consists of many different variations of parasitic species, all sharing a similar hivemind. The Rot is considered one of the biggest threats to the residents of Elyxium. Liches are one of the most intelligent and common species in this colony of parasites.
     

  • Crowned Liches are often viewed as the opposite of their Rot brethren, Rot Fiends. Unlike Fiends, Liches are slow-moving and often feed upon corpses or easy to access prey. Their bodies sacrifice speed for strength and stability, making them a feared creature once provoked. Due to how slow-moving Liches are, they possess once critical ability to gain the upper hand if they must hunt living prey. Inside a Liches mouth is a bundle of small tongues, all ending in a microscopic hole that can secrete a paralyzing agent. When hunting, Liches can use this saliva to infect a single bite onto their prey, which after 10-30minutes will fully immobilize its prey, allowing the Lich to track it down and feed.

    Crowned Liches is a collective term to label the parasite and host together. The process in which a Lich parasite infects and takes over its host is a horrific and painful experience for the unfortunate victim. The parasite begins life usually no smaller than a grain of rice, which often seeks food to hide in until it is devoured. Once inside a host, the parasite begins to rapidly grow over a course of a year, slowly lengthening along the spinal cord of the victim, controlling its nervous system, and eventually consuming the brain and head to fully take over the host's body. During this process, the host's body usually undergoes physical alternation until it finally appears like the above anatomy. Its very common for the parasite part of the Lich to be clearly different in texture from the body, however, in some cases the worms can be covered in other skins such as fur, scales, and even mucus.

    Sight
    Liches have no noticeable eyes since they are attuned to living in pitch blackness, however, in some cases, microscopic eyes have been found on the top of a Liches head. Crowned Liches are extremely attuned to the heat around them, and use this information to create a heatmap of the area around them, prey or hot surfaces showing as red, and cool areas are blue. This inhibits the ability of Liches to hunt during hot days, which is why they mainly hunt at night or in cold and dark areas.

Anatomy


  • Crowned Liches always have a head like the parasite pictured, and a tail that mimics the same texture as the head, as it is a full worm peeking through both ends of the host's body.

    Plates or no plates on the worm's back.
    The worm's face can have soft "whisker" growth or no growth. (Shown on Ref)
    Horns, wings, scales, feathers, glowing markings.

    Any type of natural tail.
    Any lip shape.
    Extra heads must be accompanied by another tail, as having more than one worm in the Lich must be defined.

Houndling (Shingaling Subtype)

Diet

  • Houndlings can eat any food, even rocks and gems as their body turns the materials into dust when absorbing its energy.



Height

  • Houndlings are usually the size of small dogs, the middle size between Shingalings and Totos. This can be from 1-3ft roughly.




Reproduction

  • Houndlings can not reproduce.

    Creation
    Houndlings are another subtype from the haunted vessel family (Totos, Shingalings).  These dog-like dolls have a more intricate design when compared to Shingalings,  which causes them to be harder to make. Instead of a metal ball to hold the soul inside, this design uses a unique crystal found deep underground with a unique spiral curve through the center. This allows the form to be stronger, and support the larger size but not quite as strong as Totos. Houndlings have been known to be very comfortable around Shingalings and Totos alike, and consider them family when referring to such species. 

    Behavior 
    Houndlings are easily excitable but possess the same intelligence as Totos and other main species. While each Shingaling can emit a weak emotion to those around it, Houndlings have one emotion allocated to their soul and can choose when to emit this strong aura to others. Sometimes, the form of the Houndling is themed around their one defined emotion. While this may deem negative-mood Houndlings as undesirable, they still hold the universal ability to absorb their emotion from those around them, allowing them to take sadness, loneliness, and anger away from anyone suffering from these negative moods. 
     

 

Soul Lore

  • Houndlings are created with a soul that was wandering the earth that possesses the soul bead. This soul is released upon death as per normal or is taken to Alure by a Cyphon when they choose to pass on.

    When turning or making a Houndling, please follow the difference in anatomy from the Shingaling species. 

    Arms
    The thread/rope arms of a Shingaling are now tied around the chest of a Houndling.
    They can have fancy knots on the back or chest. Beads and charms etc can be added to these knots.

    Tail
    The tail remains the same as Shingaling rules. 

    Face/Bell
    The bell/face follows more of a dog snout shape, and looks like a simplified bean. The mouth can open to show the metal maw inside, teeth can be any colour, and the tongue can also be flesh or metal. The eyes are connected to the mouth, however, the lip shape can be altered. 

    Emotion
    You can apply your Houndlings emotion on their masterlist form by defining it when adding the Houndling Anatomy trait. To do this, apply the trait and in the comment of the trait add the emotion. 

     

 

Rot Fiend (Licensed Open Specie Subtype)

Diet

  • Rot Fiends diet mostly consists of live meat, but they can eat any edible foods.

Height

  • Rot fiends are usually around Aphex-Xeode height but can be seen to be around the smaller end of Aphex.


Reproduction

  • Rot Fiends are parasitic in nature and do not have genders. They reproduce by laying eggs in living beings. These eggs slowly take over the host and turn them into a Rot Fiend.

  • Rot Fiends are a parasitic species belonging to a large colony called The Rot. The Rot consists of many different variations of parasitic species, all sharing a similar hivemind.   • Rot Fiends are large humanoid parasitic creatures of flesh and bone. The hosts these parasites have infected are so far mutated that they no longer appear like the original species, and there is often no way to identify its previous form. Rot Fiends are aggressive predators that feed on any live prey they can capture in their large claw-like arms. Once caught, Rot Fiends will "hug" its prey against the exposed chest, where acid eats away at the animal unless it is reduced to nothing. Due to this process, Rot Fiends are universally feared for their lack of empathy when hunting and eating.

    While Rot Fiends appear as cold-hearted parasites to most Elyxians, they are very intelligent and have many rituals and social structures not often documented by outside entities. As mentioned, Rot Fiends share a hivemind with their colony. This hivemind is a weak urge to protect the hive they reside in and allows any residents of the Rot to sense another's presence. This helps hive mates to avoid accidentally hunting eachother in the dark, or hunting newly turned hosts. 

    Rot Fiends lack any eyes as most in the Rot do. Living deep underground they lose the need to have eyes and have instead attuned to sound and vibrations in the ground. Rot Fiends have their own language, which is similar to the chatter of insects or birds, but the Fiends can still speak Elyxian or English.  

    While Rot Fiends belong to the extensive colony of The Rot, there have still been noted instances of a Rot Fiend leaving their hive and acclimatizing to life alongside Elyxians. This is incredibly rare, and often Rot Fiends are driven away or killed if they are found on the surface due to the stigma they carry.

      Sight
      Rot Fiends have no eyes since they are attuned to living in pitch blackness. They can smell extremely well and can pick up on the slightest of changes in the air. They use this information to create a heatmap of the area around them, prey or hot surfaces showing as red, and cool areas are blue. This inhibits the ability of Fiends to hunt during hot days, which is why they mainly hunt at night or in cold and dark areas.

    Rot Fiends can have any style of acidic glands on the chest, and usually have one or two pairs of arms. These acidic glands can also be on the palms and underside of the arms, and as any style on the chest as long as the section is large enough to devour prey (like above). Acidic glands should appear like gel, muscle or a shiny wet surface,

    Fur of any style or no fur.
    Two or one pair of arms.
    Horns, wings, scales, extra tails, feathers, glowing markings.

Diet

  • VOIX will generally eat anything, but mostly enjoy meats.

Height

  • VOIX average around the size of a medium-large dog.


Reproduction

  • VOIX reproduce like normal mammals and usually produce a litter of 2-4 pups.

Lore and Information

    • VOIX are creatures roughly around the size of medium to large dogs. They can not see so they use a type of echolocation to understand their immediate surroundings. Many VOIX are clumsy due to this and often trip over objects or bump into walls, however, they have tough skulls so they are never seriously injured. This species can survive independently in the wild or companions to Elyxians. Just like Aphex, VOIX were genetically created through the same methods that Aphex undertook. They were designed to be incredibly intelligent with the unique ability to replicate human speech as a method of retrieving sensitive information during the war. It wasn't long until some VOIX escaped into the wild where they quickly bred and soon almost rivaled the Aphex in numbers.  

      VOIX have a deep attachment to Aphex and vice versa. All VOIX contains a special ability of telepathic power which can only be used on Aphex that they have closely bonded with. They can only use this power to read the immediate speech process of an Aphex, and can translate that to words. This is almost considered an extension of the body for Aphex. It aids in communication and even a sense of prestige as the bond between the two species can be seen as difficult at best. An Aphex must bond with a VOIX that they feel expresses them, be it in appearance, voice, or attitude. VOIX can not speak on their own! They can create any feral sound, but they can not process words without the knowledge of an Aphex. 

      VOIX unlike Aphex need to feed. They enjoy a range of food types, however they do not eat plants! Fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds are fine however.

Lurker (Licensed Open Specie Subtype)

Diet

  • Lurkers usually have a diet of insects, bird,s and mostly aquatic animals.

Height

  • Lurkers usually average the same height as Aphex, some reaching a few feet taller than the average. 5ft-8ft.


Reproduction

  • Lurkers reproduce like normal reptiles, laying a clutch of around 5-10 eggs that appear like large roe. It is estimated that 50% of these eggs usually hatch.

Lore and Information

  • There have been accounts depicting lone mutated Syrons wandering around caves and dark dwellings. In recent times it is documented that tribes of these Lukers have developed in remote coastal areas, located at least 20-50 meters under sea level. These beings show high intelligence, and when found in developed areas have been shown to possess unique culture and traditions. Some have even described cases where Lurkers have spoken in the English tongue and attempted to survive among the main species. Lurkers are semi-aquatic and can live on land or in water. Their skin absorbed oxygen through the water, however, above water they require the use of their lunge to breathe. Depending on the location and parents of the Lurker, they may develop more fins or fur depending on the environment and survivability of their habitat. Some Lurkers even survive in the depths of fresh water caves, using their sensitive feelers to seamlessly navigate the tight tunnels.

    Lone Lurkers are rare, but in most cases, they do not appear aggressive. They prefer to eat bugs and small rodents but are also capable of eating normal foods and often love sweet delicacies.  Many Lurkers appear quite affectionate around those that offer them shelter or food. Many have no concept of personal space or normal etiquette and may act "out of line" when expressing their emotions. 

    Tribes
    It has been recently discovered that Lurkers have 4 distinct settlements around Elyxium, where their culture has thrived for thousands of years unnoticed by the public eye. Each settlement is as follows; The Kuhra dynasty located outside Ashborne, the Su'rin dynasty located at Silkglow, the Arack dynasty located outside The Sinkhole, and finally the Vyleon dynasty located below Feisha. Each settlement has a unique culture but shares similar practices. It is unknown how these tribes communicate, but it is deemed that mostly all the tribes do not share good relations. Each tribe possesses an underwater shrine, and each is allocated an oracle. This oracle is always of female descent, usually the firstborn female of the previous oracle. Males deemed worthy by the tribe are to live at their tribe's shrine and spend their lives training to become sentinels. Once worthy, each candidate is inscribed a crest of their tribe on their chest, this crest is infused with a metal depending on the achievements of the sentinel. 

    Black tattoo = Basic/fresh Sentinel.
    Copper Ink = Completed the Trials of the Deep. 
    Silver Ink = Has served 1 or more masters successfully. 
    Gold Ink = has completed all the above, served at least 3 masters, and has been chosen by the oracle.  

    These tribes create and train their sentinel Lurkers with the intention to be known as the best Lurker dynasty, their soldiers an extension of their culture's quality. Thus they have extreme training practices and put their potential sentinels through rigorous trials to prove their worth and strength. Some have even correlated their trails as resembling Rhakin culture. Once at least Copper rank, sentinels are then sold or auctioned to wealthy Elyxians as private soldiers. If these sentinels fail their duty or disrespect their tribe, they are executed or punished harshly, almost always including a public removal of rank.

    The four tribes are heavily religious and believe in serving the same single god, Niesha. Presumably, each oracle chosen for their shrine has the ability to communicate with the celestial god. Offerings of gold and pearls are left at the seashore, and if these gifts have disappeared by the next dawn it is assumed they have been accepted by the god.

Anatomy



  • A Lurker's body can change drastically in appearance but often shows the same features. All Lurkers have feelers on their body that pick up light and sound in their environment, mostly when sleeping or in pitch black. Their chest always has at least one eye in the center, but eyes can be found on the end of their feelers. Some Lurkers still have the soft scales on their body, but this isn't always present. They have three toes on each limb which is usually soft and textured. They can be furred or smooth-skinned, and tails can vary drastically. Teeth also can vary in style but the anatomy remains consistent. Lurkers often range between 5ft-8ft tall when standing.

    To abide by cannon appearance rules they CAN have:
    Fur of any style.
    Any style feelers.
    At least one eye on the chest and optional eyes on the feelers.
    Horns, wings, scales, extra arms, tails or heads, feathers, glowing markings.
    Soft scales on their skin.
    Gills. Any type of fins.
    Any style teeth.
    Any type of natural or finned tail.

    To abide by cannon appearance rules they can NOT have:
    Eyes any other places than the chest/end of feelers.
    No feelers.
    No gel stomach.
    Drastically different anatomy as pictured above.
    Magical afflictions (without added items).

Xubrus (Xeode Subtype)

Diet

  • Xubri enjoy eating gems and metals. The objects are evaporated in their souls.

  • Xubri are the same height as their man species, Xeodes.





Reproduction

  • Xubri can not reproduce but can still possess reproductive organs.

Lore and Information

  • Creation
    Xubri (Xubrus plural) are formed in a similar process to Xeodes, and share the same form of creation. When a Xeode hatches from its seed, a Blessed Cyphon may stumble across the being in its early stages of life. In most cases, the Cyphon/s may adopt this hatchling and bring them back to Alure where they restore their soul's "fire" with gracelight to ensure that the Xeode's body remains strong and resilient. This grants the ability to travel to and fro from Alure and Elyxium. Cyphons train these Xubri to protect the souls in Alure from its harsh dangers or allow them to return to Elyxium once fully grown to help round up lost spirits or Xeodes. It is quite often to find a Xubrus accompanied by a Cyphon.

    Behavior
    At a young age, after a Xubru's soul is mixed with Gracelight they slowly develop strange traits. Cyphons have assumed this strange anatomy is a result of the Gracelight and unique environment the Xubri are raised in. Their heads grow excessive amounts of mineral growth, which is carved down to a more manageable style. The chest is also affected by this growth as their organs slowly wither and disintegrate, making room for the mass of Gracelight they absorb during their life in Alure. This means that Xubri do not need to eat like normal organisms. When injured, their soul releases from the wounds. If they lose a majority of their soul smoke then they can wither and die if they do not reabsorb more Gracelight from Alure. 

    Xubri are not considered a dangerous or malicious species as they are docile from their training by Cyphons, but can underestimate their own strength. It has been documented that Xubri are prone to corruption by Cursed Cyphons and can turn towards absorbing other's souls to increase their own power. Blessed Cyphons can sense when a Xubri posses another's soul and often outcast the Xubri or destroy them.

 

Soul Lore

  • Xubri are created with a soul that was wandering the earth. Xubri have a soul mixed with Gracelight and their original soul, allowing them to live for a long period of time, even over 500 years.

 

Traits

    Maw patterns translate into teeth shapes for Xubri.
    Tusks are normally downwards, the fanged tusk trait can be used to turn them upright. (Uncommon)
    Unlimited Mineral Growth of gems/metal on the body. Can not be strange types such as wax/other.
    The head needs to have mineral growth on the top. This is often carved like a mask and can have fur in between joints. This can be the entire head or separate plates, but at the very least needs to be on the top of the head.
    The soul should be one main colour.

    The base affliction this character had/has will turn into:
    Critical Affliction (Xubrus): The ability to travel to Alure and back.

     

 

Mythren (Ethren Subtype)

Diet

  • Mythren mostly live on a diet of insects, fruits, and/or flower pollen. Their diet mostly relies on personal preference. 




Height

  • Mythren usually ranges from 10cm to 40cm tall on average.






Reproduction

  • Mythren can not reproduce like normal Ethren. Others can only be found in mutated Ethren crystal eggs.

Lore and Information

  • Mythren are pixie-sized Ethren that emerge from the same types of crystal eggs that Ethren come from. These eggs are usually smaller, and the gem it is made from determines the Mythren's soul gem. Mythren have a few different discernable features to Ethren, mostly their insectoid anatomy and the gem that adorns their heads instead of an Arcana. 

    Mythren can have a large range of gems that can adorn their head. These gems are common minerals found in the earth that fall into the gemstone category (Can include man-made gems).  Each Mythren has a unique aura that emanates from their gemstone (this can be chosen by the owner or follow typical auras of gemstones). This aura is not devastatingly strong but can have a subtle influence on those around them which can be controlled on will. 
     

  • Mythren are most commonly found in Hivia and the mushroom biome in which their food is plentiful. They can fly around with their inset wings that usually leave a small sparkling trait behind them. Those that mostly feed on pollen can store the powder on their ankles for easy transport.

    Body Traits

    Mythren do not posses Arcanas. Instead, they have gemstones in the middle of the head. These can be in any shape or style, including a horn shape without a trait. To record the gemstone on your Mythren, add the trait for the subspecies anatomy (Mythren Anatomy) and add the gemstone in the notes section of the trait. It should look like - Mythren Anatomy (Ruby).

  • When making a Mythren, please ensure you have the following additions all listed under (Mythren Anatomy) trait.
    - Insectoid wings
    - A single type of gemstone on the head, any style
    - Thicker fur around the paws
    -(Optional) insect tail (can not be Arachnida or Scorpiones etc)
    -Wider head
